Battling ropes – None impact cardio

Battling rope wave exerciseBattling ropes are currently my favourite piece of exercise equipment to train myself and my clients.

They are are incredibly fun to train with, but they are also very challenging.

Battling ropes exercises are all explosive endurance exercises. So they use a lot of energy, and really get the heart pumping.

Also because there is no impact to the legs or back using battling ropes, they are ideal for training clients who have weaknesses in these areas and so struggle to find exercises that push them cardiovascular.

The main 3 exercises I recommend are the battling rope wave, shown above and the battling rope side slams, then the side wave.

There are loads more, but i tend to use these 3 exercises 30 of each in a row, its around 2 minutes of intense cardio.
